Get Real At nia
Music
Calendar
Our
music and party room is now called nia. We have taken
our trademark relaxed, laid back atmosphere stirred in a
fireplace, brickwork, candles and lamps, comfy sofas and bar
stools, and then chilled it with some groovin' tunes through
our excellent sound system. nia is open with an expanded
cocktail list Tuesday through Friday, from 6:00 p.m.
from Thanksgiving to Victoria Day and for
performances throughout the year.

Songwriter's Series. We'll miss you Erin!
But all is not lost as we welcome local indie rock hero
Scott B and his combo as they accept the torch and

Circle, Chris
Tait

Mondays in support of his new cd entitled Hello My
Name Is Chris Tait. Blending cool, tight riffs around
Tait's trademark vocals, the songs on the new disc are
powerful, mature and poignant.

- Having
made a name for themselves on the local scene in the past
year as a band to see, LikeWater stir up a mix of
truly refreshing melodic and radio-sweet pop underpinned
by singer Jennifer Cladeau's striking vocal
presence and Eric Newby's tasteful guitar presence
on Thursday January 17. In the tradition of roots
based pop, Likewater are making waves.
Also on the bill are local popsters 33 as they
return to the nia stage warming things up with their
trademark sassy, hook laden tunes. Combining jangley
guitars with catchy melodic punctuation, 33 come close to
The Stranglers meets REM.
Opening the night are newcomers Text as they blend
an acoustic duo into something more than their parts of
folk-pop influences.
- With an eye
for the absurdities of the human plight and an ear for
putting them to music, critically acclaimed roots-pop
songwriter and former front man with The Stickpeople,
Gregory
Hoskins
has something to say.
This Saturday January 19 show is opened with the
jazzy pop stylings of local duo Justin
Abedin and Nikki Loney.
- Saturday
Janury 26 ~ Hush
Hush
with Kevin
Fox.
