18th Annual Festival Of Small Breweries
Friday September 29, 5 to 10 p.m.
Twenty-two breweries will be represented by thirty-six brews.
In the midst of some rare and interesting selections there will be at least a dozen pale ales vying for the title of "Best Of The Fest". New to C'est What will include the Granite double dry hopped cask IPA, Great Lakes 666 Devil's Beer, Neustadt Manchester Bitter, both of the Trafalgar Brewers Challenge fruit beers, McAuslan Raspberry Ale, as well as new brews from King, Beau's, and Taps.
The festival will also mark the unveiling of five brand-spanking-new cask ale taps after some renovations to our coolers and original bar this summer.
Admission is free, samples are a loonie apiece, we will be serving samples from five until ten.
Renos Near Completion
New "Old Bar" and Smoking Room conversion
Our rejuvenation of the original C'est What ("pub side") bar is all but complete. To give our customers a little more elbow room and more space in front of the bar we have switched our draught taps to the back bar. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new cask ale equipment from England (apparently Customs is not to be rushed) which will allow us to keep our five "real ale" tap brews in top shape. We expect to be fully functional for the Beer Festival on Friday September 29.
The old smoking room (don't get me started...) is being converted to an event room for thirty to forty people complete with a beautiful new fireplace and a big screen High Definition TV with connections for computer driven presentations. Work on this room should be complete by Thanksgiving (the Canadian one!).

Armed with an acoustic guitar and his aching gravely drawl, twangy troubadour Shannon Lyon effortlessly shows the way to where the true path of alt-country lies. Somewhere in the heart of Canada.
With rave reviews like; ...an acoustic jewel in high standing... or ...Shannon was the solo gunman who filled the room with a stunning set of music that lovers love to and broken hearts break to..., its the purity and rawness of Lyons songwriting and delivery that are touching audiences and critics alike.

With Benefits of Doubt and Dawn Langstroth
With the release of their latest recording "Nowadays", the Mike Erb Band (M.E.B.) is poised to establish itself as a serious contender within the roots rock scene. Although formed like many other alt-country outfits around an individual singer/songwriter, over the past three years the M.E.B. has solidified into an egalitarian unit, with all members contributing to the overall vision of the band.
Listened to in this way, "Nowadays" is the culmination of months of tireless rehearsing, live gigging, and recording in order to hone a sound that not only conveys the emotional impact of Erb's songs, but showcases the band as the dynamic collection of musicians that they are. For the M.E.B., the song is all that matters, and with a solid foundation in both the country and pop fields, the album effortlessly cross-pollinates the two, via Erb's honest delivery, resulting in an all-around effective package.
A native of the thriving scene in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario (just west of Toronto), that is also home to nationally-known artists like Danny Michel, The Miniatures, and Shannon Lyon, Mike Erb began writing songs in the mid 90s after meeting bass player Darius McKinley. The pair formed several short-lived projects together before Erb decided that the best test of his emerging talent would be journeying to Nashville.
Saturday October 21. Show time 9:30pm, Admission is "first come, first seated." Tickets $6.00
