Adam Cotton Local alt-roots crooner Adam Cotton is busy bending genres and making folk somewhat cool for the hipsters again.
Taking his cue form the obvious pool of yester-year heroes such as Bob Dylan or Nick Drake, he may infact be more inspired by the brooding sides of Nick Cave as Cotton breaks with the singer-songwriter-as-victim tag to incorporate more visceral, raw elements to his mellow yet haunting tunes.
Crossing the lines between folk, pop and beat inflected cool aesthetics, Adam Cotton seems just as comfortable letting decidedly Indian influences creep into his writing as he is lending the spirit of Leonard Cohen some space.
