The luscious and textural tones of Alana's voice, combined with her beautiful melodies, create a truly unique and evocative sound. A self-taught guitarist and classically trained vocalist, Alana Kurtis creates folky, alt.country, pop tunes that speak from her heart and showcase her gorgeous voice.

She earned her degree in music at California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, where she studied a host of eclectic vocal styles. Alana remained in L.A. for six years, writing songs, recording and playing shows with her newly formed rock band.

Armed with an arsenal of knowledge and experiences, Alana moved back to Canada in 2002. Alana has written her best songs since moving back: "I'm glad I left L.A. when i did, Canada is my home and the land and the people are a great source of inspiration. I am happy to throw myself into the music scene as a Canadian singer-songwriter."
