Karen ManionKaren Manion is living a dream as a new jazz singer on the Toronto scene. Manion and her band have played to sold-out crowds at Toronto’s premiere jazz clubs, The Montreal Bistro and The Top O’ The Senator. She has performed with the finest names in Canadian jazz - The Mark Eisenman Trio, Neil Swainson, John Sumner, and Richard Whiteman, to name but a few.
Recent gigs include The Cameron House, Lula Lounge, The Rex Hotel, Lisa’s Café, The Liberty Street Cafe, The Oakville Centre for The Performing Arts, C’est What, The Horseshoe Tavern, and more.
Her unique approach to jazz standards, bossas & ballads allows her to solo with single accompaniment or swing with a full jazz ensemble. Her colourful delivery and lighthearted banter makes for a lively show.
Manion draws inspiration from the jazz stylings of legends Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, Sarah Vaughan and Anita O’Day. Her goal is to touch the audience’s heart and transport them back to a more leisurely and elegant time.
