Kevin Fox Taking the acoustic guitar playing singer songwriter thing to new places is Kevin Fox. Incorporating string and woodwind arrangements into his smooth and orchestral writing as he brings to life his musical vision with humble confidence and subtlety.With an original take on what could be loosely described as folky pop if one only noticed the acoustic guitar, it's Fox's ability to set a mood and expand on it with his taste for lush compositions and ambience that sets him apart from this genre. At the forefront in his writing are fluent, moody melodies that move from a brooding darkness to a delicate sensitivity. The result is unpretentious and refreshing. Truly a treat to see live, one recent Fox performance at nia had many people wondering why they had not heard him showcase his music this way before. Apparently his talents are in high demand as a supporting musician which leaves him little time to work on his own material. Having found some time in his schedule, Fox is back with his intriguing and eclectic lineup. |
