Kim Jarrett Natural, melodic, and enchanting are all words that you could use to describe the voice of Toronto singer/songwriter Kim Jarrett.
With rootsy influences ranging from Neil Young to The Indigo Girls, it's Jarrett's pursuit of a "good song", the right melody and hook that drives her.
“A good song grabs you and you find yourself humming it later in the day,” says Jarrett. “I set out to write songs that are meaningful to me, that express my emotions and ideas – that won’t leave my head.”
Since 2000, Jarrett has been working with her band, performing some successful headline shows in Toronto, and developing the material for her self-titled, debut release, with Canadian producer, and SOCAN award-winning songwriter, Ken Tobias.
Kim Jarrett, released September 2002, is a fusion of styles crossing the genres of pop, country, rock and folk. The ten original tracks, two of which were co-written with Tobias, showcase Jarrett’s songwriting and unique vocal quality. The result is a debut album that is personal, touching, and full of the kind of songs that upon hearing become instant favourites.
