Le
Phunk is a six-piece band that has been entertaining
dance audiences with its retro funk, acid jazz and classic
soul repertoire since its inception in November 1997.
The
band is comprised of Toronto-based, but internationally born
artists Randall Johnson Chung (Bandleader,
songwriter, guitarist), Tammy Wilson (lead vocals),
Nick Bogoeff (tenor saxophone, flute, vocals),
Rahlen Sullaphen (bass), Fred Locke (alto
saxophone), and Dave Peters (drums).
Their
debut CD The Phunk Hits the Phans consists of eleven
original tracks as well as a smooth rendition of Carol
King's "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural
Woman."
Le
Phunks tunes are all distinctive, organic creations that are
enhanced by the band's energy, soul and affinity for the
music. Standing by its "Go Big Or Go Home" philosophy, the
band is determined to make a name for themselves
internationally with richly textured music that holds
universal appeal, talent, and fluidity.
