Mere Mortals

Sounds Like... The Irish Rovers covered by The Ramones in a Halifax beer garden.

The Mere Mortals unleash a Celtic flavoured slice of Canadiana with the fury of a thrash band. Unabashed drinking and singing music with clever lyrics and memorable choruses. A keen sense of spontaneity is always at the forefront as the band use's the audience's energy as a springboard to let loose with unrestrained abandon.

Brimming with spontaneous cheers and the tinking of glasses, band frontman Dave Young elicits non-stop crowd participation as he leads the band through a frenetic blend of celtic and roots rockin' grooves they call "folk'n roll." The traditional sounds of Irish jigs and Danny Boy melt into manic renditions of Pinball Wizard as both band and audience let loose with abandon. A safe bet for this raucous day, the Mere Mortals know how to get the party going, and keep it going.
