"Wonderful

darling, Danny Michel's latest solo
recording, Fibsville, is a concept album
that hits the mark with a bitter-sweet delivery, an
interesting storyline, and a lot of pop
atmospherics. His songs are laced with an eclectic
mix of twangy and crunchy guitars with samples and
beats that set a mood. Gaining
critical acclaim since his 1998 debut solo release,
Before The World Was Round ("one of the top
10 albums of the year" - CBC's Radio Sonic),
Michel's career seems to be taking off. Easily
transcending the confines of "slacker-pop," the
smooth feel and easy groove carry effectively
simple melodies and economic lyrical phrasing. Laid
back beats in a languid gait support the melodic
structure while Michel's lyrical imagery catches
the ear as he delivers each word with an awkward
