Hamilton
based singer/songwriter/guitarist, Jamie
Oakes, is no newcomer to the Canadian music
scene. For the past fifteen years, Oakes has been
honing his craft on the local map as a musician and
songwriter and recently been hired as guitarist for
touring acts such as Tom Cochrane, Holly
Cole, and Marc Jordan. It
was the release of Oakes' independent debut cd
Shadows In Dreams in 1998 that represented a
turning point for him artistically as his focus
shifted to his own music. Technically, the
recording "is made up of musical shades, blurring
both stylistic and sonic lines, creating a highly
original and highly rewarding artistic statement."

rich vocal range, coupled with stirring guitar
playing creates a fine balance to his lyrical
writing style. Covering a gamut of musical styles,
Jamie Oakes provides an organic, sometimes
atmospheric, escape from the temporal. With Paul
