Out
Of Order are six guys playing jazz all at once.
Combining pretty, melodic ballads with frenetic
dissonance, their repertoire moves in directions
one might call "modern" or "progressive" if pressed
for time. While pushing some boundaries, the
interplay between the players is key as they
support each other with an awareness of the
direction of the music as a whole. OUT OF
ORDER is a six memeber composing/ improvising new
music collective more than thrilled to be hosting
THE COLOSSAL EQUINOX a convergence of some
of the best of Toronto's new jazz performers and
creators. Joining them EVERY MONDAY IN APRIL AT
9:30 (sharp!) will be; Monday
April 8 - Earcam with Sook Yin
Lee and Nobou Kubota - vox; Jason
Hammer- bass;Tomasz Krakowiak -
percussion; John Oswald - alto sax; Glenn
Hall - woodwinds. An awesome line-up and a
great way to convene the convergence!! Monday
April 8 - Rob Clutton - bass and Paul Dutton -
vox. Clutton (Nojo, JAZZSTORY) and Dutton
(CCMC) will be presenting a much anticipated
duo performance and may even hang around to share
some new ideas. Monday
April 15 - The Ken Aldcroft Group with
Lina Allemano - trumpet; Rob Clutton
- bass; Anthony Michelli - drums; Ken
Aldcroft - guitar. Since moving from Vancouver
a little more than two years ago Ken Aldcroft has
been busy producing concerts of his own
compositions and arrangements of Duke and
Miles' rare gems . His new tunes, written
for this band, spring forward! Monday
April 22 - PICKLE JUICE with Joe
Sorbara (drums ,percussion ,composition) is
creating novel musical forms that never fail to
surprise. An ever evolving line-up with multireeds
and strings sprouting everywhere! Monday
April 29 - JAZZSTORY
with Tim Posgate - guitar; Jean
Martin -drums; Lina Allemano - trumpet;
Rob Clutton - bass. Tim Posgate's
compositions for this ensemble -epic and short
prose - follow the lines of the great canadian
adventure,exploring new territory and bringing home
the gold! OUT
OF ORDER is Evan Shaw ,Scott
Marshall- saxophones and woodwinds; Alex
Porter -drums; Wes Neal - bass;
Geordie Haley - guitar; Marcel Aucoin
- keys. The band will hit the stage each monday
night in april at 11p.m.. Formed on the east coast
in Halifax in 1995 this ensemble continues the
precedent of performing and composing original
work. Leaping forth with a winter's worth of new
tunes they'll be urging their guest bands to
converge and make some serious spring rite racket
! Mondays
in April. With guests Earcam, Rob Clutton
& Paul Dutton, Ken Aldcroft Group, Pickle
Juice, and Jazzstory.
All shows start at 9:30 pm. $6 at the
door. A club dj scanning
