 RenannToronto native turned Montrealer singer songwriter Rennan built a strong rep on her 1998 debut self titled CD that gave the retro brit-pop sound a face lift with healthy amounts of volume and grit.Renann's follow up full length see her replacing the crunchy guitar riffs and driving beats in favour of a more stipped back approach. The tunes on 2002's "Taken With You" support the catchy melodies and bittersweet lyrics with lush textures, mellow keyboard pads and overall chilled vibe. With her characteristicly unyeilding vocal presence Renann contunies to inject her songs with an irony and sensitivity that transend the obvious pop music roots. |
