Us & Wilbur File
under PopRawkFolkHop
This band has been known throughout their history for infectious live performances and memorable songwriting, After 6 years of hammering it out as one of Toronto's eminent live bands, crowd favourites Us & Wilbur have decided enough's enough and return to C'est What for their final show. Devin Armstrong (bass, vocals), Jeff Cowling (guitars, vocals), Michael Johnston (lead vocals, keyboards), and John Rosefield (drums, vocals) fuse elements of rock, eclectic pop and groove-oriented roots music into the collective sensibility of Us & Wilbur. Us and Wilbur's debut CD Lost and Found was recorded at the Gas Station studios in Toronto with drummer/producer Don Kerr (Ron Sexsmith, Rheostatics). Their latest release Through These Walls is a captivating 10-song adventure into exciting musical territory filled with clever lyrics, rolicking melodies, rich harmonies, and an irreverant spirit. It reflects the bands progression from their acoustic roots as a trio, to the fuller richer sound they have developed since addition of Armstrong over one year ago. Produced by one Canada's finest sets of ears, Lurch, the cd is a very textured and dynamic pop album, punctuated by layers of guitar, sweeping organ and piano, and a driving rhythm section.
