My daughter and I stopped in for another delicious meal at C’est What?. The Hogtown Salad is a meal in itself! Fabulous combination of greens, slivered almonds, sliced hard-boiled egg, bacon, pickled onion and other delicious salad fixings in light ginger sesame dressing. The butter chicken poutine, falafel, jambalaya, goat stew and butter chicken with rice are some of the other awesome offerings that we’ve enjoyed at C’est What?. The servings are generous and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and attentive. The beer and cider choices are plentiful and change regularly. There is often great live music too! I have visited C’est What? for many meals and never been disappointed.

The place is very well located, easy to find and with plenty of space inside – one of the sections even has a stage for live music. The selection of beers is simply amazing – and they serve probably the best poutine I’ve ever had in my life. Recommended without hesitation.

Relaxed atmosphere, even on a Friday night. As a dark beer drinker even I was spoilt for choice and loved the option of small measures so that I could try a few without falling over.

Honestly… I haven’t been to C’est what? in 20-years. This was a ‘go to’ place down town when I lived ‘down town-ish,’ but with two decades living in Toronto’s outer suburbs…well, I don’t get to Front Street as often any more. Yesterday, that changed. Heading after work to the Sony Centre with friends for a concert, meant a quick nosh was necessary. We all admitted we had a past romance with C’est what? and decided to renew our acquaintance. Good call! We had attentive, but not over-bearing service (aware we were on a tight time line), and we were impressed with the beer options – tons and tons of terrific beers from near and far. We thoroughly enjoyed the boneless goat stew (hot, but in a good way), the Barney Rubble-esque barbecued ribs and the juicy and perfectly grilled lamb burger (with great sweet potato chips). We were out in plenty of time for our concert and felt happy and contented as we went on our way. We will be back much sooner… 20-years is too long to go without a visit to an old friend!

Great food, great beer, great service, and an amazing atmosphere. I recommend this place for anyone that enjoys a cool pub and hasn’t visited this one. I have been a few times and will definitely return.

Finally found a pub in North America that does more than one or two proper cask ales. Kept in top quality condition and superb to drink. Went on three different occasions and each time there were at least two new cask beers on. Bar staff were very knowledgeable and knew the different characteristics of the beers and how to serve them. Only negative is the steep stairs, fine when going down to the bar but a struggle on the way back after a few pints!

We have dined at C’est What probably 50 times in the last ten years. We just keep going back because: beer and food! Both so good. The food is prepared from scratch and it shows. The beer selection is vast and changes frequently. You just can’t go wrong! Service is always quick and attentive.

We visited a second time after being here a few months ago. The beer was fantastic, so many choices and a very knowledgeable staff to guide you through the menu. They offer three sizes of drafts which allows for experimentation. We had a variety of appetizers, all very good. Highly recommend C’est what!

Amazing tap selection with unique beers you won’t find anywhere else. Food here is also pretty good, I had the butter chicken poutine and it was awesome. They also have pool tables you can play on which is great. The staff here was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Great place to grab a couple drinks with friends.
